Hi.
The new IT is not a "remake." They're not remaking the original mini-series. They are adapting the book. It's based on source material, not the original film.
Thank you.

 I'm going to watch this. It looks good. I like when you get a glimpse of Pennywise, kinda creepy.
When hes in the sewer and goes after them, kinda dumb. His face is rather evil though.

Really like that IT is from the book source.

I'm so into IT!
I love the original TV-movie, and I like Stranger Things too. It will be fun to watch this one :grimace:

Looking very promising. Only issue is in the book, and the mini-series for that matter. The make up isn't supposed to be scary, from memory. It's a bit hard to lure a child to you if you look like a clown from hell. His image is meant to change once it's too late-or when he is tormenting the children in his various transformations to terrify them. Which, Pennywise says is akin to 'salting the meat'.

I'm very keen for it though.

Even though the original It was very good, I don't think I saw it at a young enough age for it to really put a scare in me, plus I've never had a huge fear of clowns, but the new Pennywise looks creepy af and terrifying, excited to see how this film will do  :clown:

I just realized recently that this film is made by an Argentinean, Andres Muschetti, who by the way I read that now he has been hired to direct "Robotech" the famous japanese anime series of the eighties. Anyway.. this trailer looks pretty good, I hope the final product is also good.

Pennywise in the original IT appeared more welcoming, which made sense as to why children would approach him. The new look of pennywise is clearly more haunting and sinister, almost taking away the natural creepy element of luring the victims in.

With that being said, I'm still very excited to check this new rendition out. So far it's looking pretty good. The casting seems solid, which is a major plus.

I like the new look, actually.  It's a 19th century clown.  Makes sense, because Pennywise is ancient.  Avoids comparisons to other generic clowns.

Really good point! Which goes towards how he is viewed as...mischievous then horrific instead of just clown whacky then...makes the film more dark horror.

I can't stop watching the trailer, based on how good it is I'll probably try to see it in theaters like 5 times

It's a 19th century clown.

Truly, people were made of sterner stuff in the old days.  Hard to imagine clowns who looked like the new Pennywise not being burned at the stake on general principle.

If his first call isn't to Yoko Kanno to get the music right, he's blown it.  There is so much potential to screw this up.

Let's cross our fingers, it's a huge opportunity to be able to do something great, hopefully it will be like this.

I felt like it was too much CGI when it came to Pennywise. His voice was terrible. He did have a scene here and there that looked pretty cool but nothing outstanding. I dislike kids in movies unless they are deranged or sick / depraved and do unspeakable things... so these kids meant nothing to me. Meh.

Some of the dialog and actions felt like a kids movie aka Stranger Things which I didn't care for. Everyone digs this film so its just a matter of preference, form your own opinion. I will watch the second chapter when they are adults.

6/10

I thought the movie was hilarious. One of the best comedies I've seen in a while.

Thought the original did it better.  The original has a creepy atmosphere.  This one just didn't grab me, like others have said too much cgi and jump scares.  Maybe a second watch the film will grow on me.

And I still prefer Tim Curry as the clown.  Just as Jack Nicholson as the Joker.  Funny how Batman '89 was referenced.

Stage was set when I tried to not laugh out loud when Pennywise spoke for the first time in the drain.

Yeah the jump scares with the use of the loudest audio I ever heard in a cinema...stated after the film to my fellow movie goer they should had flashing words stating 'scary part' when the sound went up.

Elements were alright then they would do something that would just fuck it.

Movie has made over $500 million now....damn! You know what would be good is the promised remakes of Salems' Lot and The Stand coming out of IT's success...as long as they have HORROR in it.

Favourite scene was Bev's bathroom after the blood is everywhere.

That's just like how they use a laugh track in sitcoms.  I hate it, it's so forced and annoying.

The Stand is actually one of my favourite mini-series.  I pretty much hate most tv nowadays.

TV mini-series were great back in the day!

I watched it a few weeks ago. Looks like we're really into an 80's revival, with all the Stranger Things and the Synthwave/Retrowave phenomenon, which is perfect to me.
The movie was ok, I preferred Curry's Pennywise, he was not THAT obviously evil looking. Bev's bathroom scene was amazing. And I'm glad they've decided to split it in two movies without mixing timelines.

Oh, and the Metallica's "metal up your ass" t-shirt was killer. This is called doing things the right way.

A MAJOR drawback is that we down here in Spain don't have the choice to watch the movies in its original language, in cinemas I mean. It's always dubbed with few exceptions. Isn't the real voice of the actors part of their performance? Well...

It's always like this down here, we always have to wait for the blu ray releases if we want to watch the movies porperly...
