The notorious Japanese mock-snuff-film series that prompted an FBI investigation at the urging of Charlie Sheen is being revived in the United States, and we’ve got the first info.

From 1985’s DEVIL’S EXPERIMENT through 1988’s highlight compilation SLAUGHTER SPECIAL, the seven-movie GUINEA PIG series showcased hideous acts of misogynistic violence, winning plenty of controversy at home and abroad. Stephen Biro, whose Unearthed Films brought the GUINEA PIGs to U.S. DVD, has now given Fango the scoop that he’s producing an AMERICAN GUINEA PIG series. “Many have tried to copy them,” according to Biro, “but few have approached their very grim core. Unearthed Films is bringing the white-hot tip of unrelenting gore, unparalleled atrocities and unmerciful slaughter back into the mind’s eye of all the horror fans who dared to see what the originals were truly about.”

The first entry, BOUQUET OF GUTS AND GORE, will be directed by Biro himself, with THE THEATRE BIZARRE and CIRCUS OF THE DEAD’s Marcus Koch creating the makeup FX and DEADBEAT AT DAWN and THE MANSON FAMILY’s Jim VanBebber serving as cinematographer. VanBebber will also star in BOUQUET along with 2nd-unit photographer Rogan Russell Marshall, Scott Gabbey and hiphop artist Eight the Chosen One; horror musician/filmmaker Jimmy Screamerclauz will handle the sound design. Stay tuned for more info as we hear it, and check out GOREZONE #31 (now on sale here) for a cover story on the original GUINEA PIG franchise.

Per Stephen Biro of Unearthed Films “Principal photography on the first American Guinea Pig is finished. We have one day left of shooting.”

Founder of Unearthed Films Stephen Biro will be making his directorial debut along with Marcus Koch on EFX and Jim VanBebber filming. The group of horror veterans plan to bring the pain back to the Guinea Pig franchise in a BIG way.

Below is the snapshot that was offered up and from what we can see it looks like American Guinea Pig might be TWICE the fun.

I, Shelby McIntyre, Producer/Co-writer of Bloody Bloody Bible Camp, was lucky enough to be a part of this historic movie shoot last weekend in Tampa, Florida.  Working with legends in the underground film industry: Stephen Biro, James Van Bebber, Scott Gabbey & Marcus Koch to name a few. The crew was tiny, shooting took place at a break-neck speed and it was incredible.  I have worked as a Special FX Assistant with Marcus Koch(100 Tears, ROT) on quite a few horror movies.  And anybody who follows independent horror knows that Marcus has worked on hundreds of movies.  I will tell you that Marcus may have just topped himself with some of the grossest & sickest bloody gore FX to-date on Stephen Biro's Guinea Pig!

And Stephen Biro, legendary distributor/owner of Unearthed Films, thee distributor of some of the sickest, most notorious underground horror movies in the world, is directing this.  So there is no question that you will be seeing some of the coolest gore FX around.  Trust me, I was there!

CMM will keep you  posted on the upcoming release dates and more photos as Stephen releases them.

Director Stephen Biro’s “AMERICAN GUINEA PIG: BOUQUET OF GUTS AND GORE”  is sure to satiate the bloodlust of gorehounds worldwide.
Along with a crew of practitcal EFX mastermind Marcus Koch of “100 TEARS”, “THE THEATRE BIZARRE” and “CIRCUS OF THE DEAD”, notorious Director Jim VanBebber of “GATOR GREEN”, “DEADBEAT AT DAWN” and “THE MANSON FAMILY” and an original score from the twisted mind of Jimmy Screamerclauz of “WHERE THE DEAD GO TO DIE” this film undeniably has the makings of an underground extreme classic.

This brand of blood and carnage has not been seen on film since the original Guinea Pig series which Stephen Biro who is the President of Unearthed Films brought from Japan to the United States. AMERICAN GUINEA PIG: BOUQUET OF GUTS AND GORE will unleash hell on audiences later this year.

This certainly proving to be something special; from everyone who has gone and had the luck to get a screener everyone has come back with glowing reports.

Though this will be a must get I must be honest and say I have let this go on the wayside at this time when it comes to stuff on my mind. I must envelope myself in it's promise and lean more and share here!

The poster is up in the [Unearthed] Films Future Releases area as coming soon; I know that isn't much to go by but guessing it will be US summer sometime.

From the trailer the mix of talent has been perfect for Bouquet of Guts and Gore! THis look and tone it has along with the really nice gore is brilliant! Looks like they have pulled it off nicely and set a pretty high quality for the rest of the films that will come to us in the future. I ponder if they will have guest directors and effects people with each film in the series. Also wander where else they will go with this, very exciting stuff indeed!

Here is what Brian Paulin of Morbid Vision Films has to say about American Guinea Pig…

Quote
Thank you to Stephen Biro for allowing me to watch a screener of American Guinea Pig Series last night!!! A great surprise to end my night. So does Bouquet of Guts and Gore live up to the Guinea Pig name? Absolutely!! Guinea Pig lives! Biro and company may have created what might be the most graphic gore film ever made. Graphic as in what you see happening to a body. This movie is up there with AfterMath, Flowers of Flesh and Blood and Tumbling Doll of Flesh. And may have surpassed them all.

Marcus Koch's effects are top notch and impressive. There is one gore effect that is on some of the poster art and is one of the best graphic gore effects I have seen since Tom Savini's exposed brain zombie in Day of the Dead. So well done! This movie made me happy. I feared I may never have a movie watching experience again like seeing the Guinea Pig films are AfterMath for the 1st time again. I got to experience that again last night. Congrats to the cast and crew for making a movie that will make an impact. Not bad for your first film Stephen Biro! You sick fuck! haha.

When is this supposed to come out?

That looks awesome but I doubt the special effects will be as great as the ones in Flower Of Flesh And Blood, it's amazing that this movie was made 20 years ago and still looks quite realistic!

What is the involvement of Jim Van Bebber in this?

I have the synapse relase of Deadbeat At Dawn with MY SWEET SATAN on it, Chunkblower promo and the video "Spasmolytic" he directed for Skinny Puppy. Definitely an amazing director and I couldn't believe some of the stunts he was doing in DEADBEAT. THE MANSON FAMILY is also pretty great, too bad it was shot on such a low budget.

Anyway AMERICAN GUINEA PIG was a needed film, we need massive gore!

James VanBebber is the lead and director of photography.

Below is part of a quote from Brian Paulin (Bone Sickness, Fetus, Blood Pigs, Cryptic Plasm) I trust what that guy states so yes I think it will live up to the name!

Yes I have seen Fetus, great gore, but I think Brian Paulin could be better with time, I have not seen any other films by him besides Bone Sickness. I am pretty sure Blood Pigs and the latest Cryptic Plasm contains great fx. I love the music in Fetus though.

Btw, what's your take on real gore, any problems with it here? I don't know why but usually fans of extreme horror dislike real gore, I remember Fred Vogel going ape shit on the toe tag forums after a dude posted the video of the 2 little maniacs killing an old man with a hammer and a screwdriver. If any problems with real gore let me know.

Agh! Hung Over! Hung out with the main man, James VanBebber and recorded a couple of commentaries... as well as Marcus Koch Thursday and Friday. I have a special commentary that will be used for the limited gore editions we are preselling on Indiegogo right now. The Limited GORE EDITIONS are set to ship at the end of MARCH and the RETAIL VERSION is slated for JUNE.
We tried to get the retail version done for April but still working on the extras and with a 5 month lead in time for pre-sales thru retail. Had to push it to June. Sorry about that... but it will be worth it.
If you want it 2 months before everyone else... hit the indiegogo page... Thanks everyone!
PS: Working on the next American Guinea Pig film... Will announce the title and director soon. A lot in the works. I hope your ready!

AMERICAN GUINEA PIG: BOUQUET OF GUTS AND GORE UPDATE!!! Authoring the special collectors edition for the Indiegogo version of AGP: BGG FINALLY... FINALIZED!!! We are ADDING an uncut 1 hour and thirty five minute making of that was taken straight off the VHS camera that was running on set during the filming of AGP. This footage is UNCUT, warts and all of the last day of shooting with all of the crazy intense gore scenes from BGG. IT WILL BE TOTALLY DIFFERENT THAN THE MAKING OF BOUQUET OF GUTS AND GORE THAT WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE RETAIL 3 DISC VERSION!

The Making of Bouquet of Guts and Gore will be the full, edited making of all of the VHS tapes we have in our possession. 10 hours worth... while, what we are calling The Walk Amongst The Guts and Gore: Unedited VHS Footage of Behind the Scenes is just an hour and a half of PURE vhs footage strictly for those who pre-bought our dvd thru Indiegogo. Wanted to make these super special for everyone involved who pre bought the film from us.

This is the lineup of ALL dvd versions in the works. INDIEGOGO Collectors limited gore covers are set for shipping in 1st or second week of April. Retail is set for July 23rd.

AND JUST SO YOU KNOW... We FINALLY managed to get Indiegogo to TURN OFF our campaign. It is set for MIDNIGHT on the 25th! They didn't answer my emails or turned it off when asked... so if you want this limited edition version 4 months before the retail hits... now is the time to do it.

Hey Everyone!

Thanks for giving American Guinea Pig: BLOODSHOCK the chance to shred some major flesh and blood! For all of the presales we did... we have been working like madmen to get it all together. The DVD's are finalized and off to the manufacturer. All T-shirts that have been bought, have been ordered. I sent out an email blast to everyone who was supposed to get one so we know your size. Out of the 52... only 5 people did not respond. I will have some back ups of different sizes and hope you contact us soon.

Prop certificates are in our hands, all of the cases for the props that can fit into collectible cases are here... Baphomet's masks are ready to go and the order from Vultra Video VHS Big Box is in... I am hoping we get it all in in a quiet storm of guts and gore in TWO WEEKS! Maybe THREE depending on shipment times!

Once it is here... ALL OF IT! Then I am setting a signing party up for cast and crew. I think the amount of dvd's we pre-sold (About 600) is going to make their hands and fingers numb signing them all. It will be done locally and once it is set in stone... we will invite any of you.. who are local to come by and hang out with us.

I'd like to thank you all... for helping us get the next film in the American Guinea Pig Series the go ahead. I hope you enjoy this... my first feature film I directed as the CEO of Unearthed Films. We know this film will be torrented and I know... none of you would do that to us... cause we're indie and were giving you the ultra gore and mind-bending horror you crave but have not gotten for the longest time.

You are all the reason we can do this. We hope you enjoy the future films we have in line and just remember... if you can't give someone a flower... you can give them a Bouquet of Guts and Gore!

Death and Dismemberment,

Stephen Biro

Well... I'm back on Facebook... sorry for my so called vacation off the social network but we had blood and guts and insanity to do and well.... it's done now. I managed to get autographs for 150 copies of AGP:BOGAG and those are now being shipped as we speak... this weekend, I have more of the crew coming over and the rest will be ready for shipping next week. It will take a while... so keep your pants on... but we just started shipping today...
Announcements are coming this week... Our newest release for Unearthed Films for September, press release for Bloodshock and a new Unearthed label that has been in the works. So much exciting stuff in the works and behind the scenes... Please bare with me... If you think the excitement level is high now... give it two weeks.
Thank you all for being there for us and making Unearthed Films grow at an insane pace. Without you, I wouldn't be able to do the things I am doing and the help you have all done for us, via sharing, screenings, talking and watching about our films and upcoming projects has helped us to an extent that is really going to show in 2015.

Really looking forward to this. I think it was an awesome idea bringing this 'American.' I hope they continue leaving the forthcoming installments to different directors as well. Tons and tons of possibilities there!

I really wanna see the mermaid one from the Japanese series. I only ever saw the first two films.

Mermaid in a Manhole is brilliant! As for this I hope as well they go down the track of different people bringing their own different elements to the series. BUT if they stay with the team I am sure they are more than talented enough…and smart enough…to bring us something different with each offering of gory sickness and debauchery!

Best deal I found online for this is on Targets website, you get the 3 disk limited edition for $25.29 thats 37% off list price and beats amazons price by a couple bucks.

http://www.target.com/p/american-guinea-pig-bouquet-of-guts-and-gore-3-discs-limited-edition/-/A-21410078#prodSlot=medium_1_2&term=american+guinea+pig (http://www.target.com/p/american-guinea-pig-bouquet-of-guts-and-gore-3-discs-limited-edition/-/A-21410078#prodSlot=medium_1_2&term=american+guinea+pig)

Oh yea and shipping is free from target so this really is a very good deal.

You are thinking of the original Japanese series.

For this one the owner of Unearthed Films, Stephen Biro, is bringing together a number of Underground filmmakers to create visions in the tradition of the original series.

Need to ramp up the cash for the next American Guinea Pig: Song of Solomon... I have money coming in from sales to Japan and Germany for Bloodshock but it comes in, after we finish shooting. :-( Down to shipping the last 50 copies presold on indiegogo on Monday... so everyone will have it that pre-ordered it.

I still have bloodshock dvds and Bouquet dvd's and lots of props left... The Bloodshock dvd's Gore Cover and the Haunting all have double covers... look behind the cover. IF I sell them... no one gets the double covers... that is indiegogo exclusive.

Rented an amazing house to shoot in... priests clothes are on order from the same company that makes them for the Vatican. Debating on what to do...

I can put up a two week indiegogo campaign where you will get behind the scenes, while we are shooting diary videos from me, a first look online screener with your name burnt into the film, (To protect from piracy) and such... but I don't want to ruin the next indiegogo campaign of pre-sales by doing that though.

I don't want to run up credit cad debt getting this made. We start shooting in July and finish, end of July... so were moving a bit faster due to Marcus's schedule cause it's not an AGP film without him. ;-) He's really busy as you can guess.

Looking for suggestions... Mainly, I don't want to piss off collectors or fans or ruin the indiegogo pre-sales of the film when it is finished. Don't want to ruin the momentum. One suggestion was start a FB page, just for sale of perks, props and such, left over, had others tell me to presell perks and props from Song... What you think?
