Zombie Girl: The Movie. We get to follow 12 year old Emily as She makes Her first feature! You end up cheering this young girl on throughout the film. The only downside is, it really makes you feel like you've done nothing with your life! Highly recommended.

I'm not sure if it's a 'doco' so much, goes for a good hour and a half. It's beautiful though, he was such a great man, and his daughter is hot!!

A touching and amazing documentary on the man who imprinted his essence into the character of Dracula forever. It's funny, informative, and heart breaking. I just wish it was longer.

I've been watching the BBC/ Chanel 4 (Can't remember which) series 'The Dark Side of Porn' which has been fantastic. The last episode was on the infamous 'Animal Farm', which I found the most intriguing. They found some great footage of the girl depicted in said films Bodil Joensen and went a little into Her life, which you really start to feel for the girl. Also it gives a bit of history of the VHS tape, and then the confiscation of porn VHS's and the company Color Climax. 'Animal Farm' is one of those films that has become the stuff of legends.  The pacing was perfect, especially seeing as they had a lot of ground to cover.

I would also recommend the 'Debbie Does Dallas' episode. Who knew there was so much going on behind the scenes!

This was a great little series, I agree. I miss the days when Channel 4 actually had balls, they would never show a series like this anymore.

Anyways, last watched 'DMT : The Spirit Molecule' great documentary from Dr Rick Strassmen. Read the book a while ago so figured I check out the documentary.

Erich von Däniken ~ Chariots of the Gods (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QecSCOX3uM#)

Quote
Documentary based on the book by Erich Von Daniken concerning the ancient mysteries of the world, such as the pyramids of Egypt and Mexico, ancient cave drawings, the monuments of Easter Island, etc. and the fact that these things and modern civilization could have been influenced by extra-terrestrial visitations hundreds(or perhaps thousands) of years ago.

Ok ever since my research paper on hydraulic fracturing last year I have become quite knowledgeable in the area and could argue for both sides
of this issue. I continue to follow it pretty closely and still I couldn't tell you the lesser of 2 evils.  Yes  we need a fuel that will make us self sufficient for fuel, but on the other side of that coin we can't afford to pollute our environment.

I will say that if you do the research for yourselves you will never find a straight answer on either side of the issue. These dvds  are evident that the director is strongly against fracking.

It was extremely interesting. Spotting Salinger was like spotting Big Foot. He was an insane genius. So much mystery surrounds this man who wrote one of the greatest novels, then just disappeared off the face of the earth.

Read a couple of other books on the events that took place. Extremely interesting how our government covered up so much crap that those wanting closure today. in this part of their lives will never get it. Sad as well as disturbing that the present administration has shot down their request to reopen and investigate what had actually happened to cause such a tradgedy.

Wow, this 2.5 hour documentary is so, so amazing. It absolutely covers every damn aspect of the monster film, and it's undeniable snowball effect that has rippled throughout time, and forever will have a hand over the world of cinema. The lost Spider pit sequence that Peter Jackson re-made in 2005 as a fan project is amazing. How had I not seen it? I wish wholeheartedly there was an option to view the original film, with Jacksons scene edited into it. Brilliant stuff.

Jesus Camp i saw that one some months ago, so cruel and so easy to manipulate the kids, they brainwash them, sad but true. Anyway good documentary.

The last what i watched 'Knuckle' (2011), irish nomad gypsies called the travellers arrange and participate in boxing street fights bare knuckles. Interesting to see they always say they fight because hate the other family but the reality is money is always on the game.

The Dark Side of Porn:  Does Snuff Exist.

In England we have a channel known as Channel 4.  To be honest its utter toilet but from time to time it does occasional seasons of horror and thriller and this was on some years ago.  I later found it and aquired it  ;)

Being slightly intrigued by the "taboo" that is snuff I do enjoy watching this documentary from time to time.  It gives a history of the first documented potential case (being the murder of Roman Polanski's wife) right up to the 1997 German Cannibal case with some cool interviews including an interview by THE MAN, THE MYTH AND THE LEGEND THAT IS DEODATO!!

Saw a humorous/macabre short film (13 mins) by Nicholas Coles called "The House is Innocent" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4265526/?ref_=nm_flmg_dr_1 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4265526/?ref_=nm_flmg_dr_1)) at the Stanley Film Festival.  The whole audience kept laughing while the documentary revisits the remodeling of a Murder House in Sacramento, CA.  I'm going to swipe/borrow/steal/pilfer/plagiarize this from IMDb user tewilliams-1:

"Late in the 1980's, a deceptively little-old-lady, named Dorothea Puente, murdered at least nine people and buried seven if them in the yard of her Victorian duplex. A hardened criminal in the body of elderly sweetness, she "selflessly" took in Sacramento's indigent, seven of whom she poisoned, buried them in her yard, and continued to spend their government checks on personal luxuries. When she was caught, the house became a Sacramento symbol of horror: The location of The Nightmare on F Street. THE HOUSE was, and IS INNOCENT."

If you ever get a chance to see it online, watch it!  I can't find any links as of yet, unfortunately (boo-hiss!).

I watched this today at work (very slow day for car sales because of the rain) It was streaming free from Shout today, I didn't learn anything new from watching this, but being a collector of VHS I really did enjoy it. It was fun, and over before I knew it. It was cool hearing some other collectors stories and seeing their collections

What an amazing doco on the life of Jim VanBebber. The footage of him at cons, making movies, as a child were absolutely fantastic. There was so much I didn't know.  What a wonderful guy. I love him...more. They showed behind the scenes of Gator Green, Jim at work directing and yeah..I was blown away.  I got to see Bone Crusher and some bits with Stephen Biro. You can watch this over and over and learn and see more. Best DVD I bought. Props to Mr. Bonacore. Beautifully pieced together. Thankyou for making this.

The passion and determination of these directors/writers to get their films made just makes me even more a fan. I am truly dedicated with my support and this place, Extreme Horror Cinema, to help support someones idea .... Kinda got a bit taken back seeing Pete Ellott mentioned us and our dedication to independent film. Fuck. This is exactly where I wanted to go with this place.

Near Penn Station, next to the Amtrak tracks, squatters have been living for years. Marc Singer goes underground to live with them, and films this "family." A dozen or so men and one woman talk about their lives: horrors of childhood, jail time, losing children, being coke-heads. They scavenge, they've built themselves sturdy one-room shacks; they have pets, cook, chat, argue, give each other haircuts. A bucket is their toilet. Leaky overhead pipes are a source of water for showers. They live in virtual darkness. During the filming, Amtrak gives a 30-day eviction notice.

Is heavy manual labor disappearing or is it just becoming invisible?
Where can we still find it in the 21st century?
Workingman's Death follows the trail of the HEROES in the illegal mines of the Ukraine, sniffs out GHOST among the sulfur workers in Indonesia, finds itself face to face with LIONS at a slaughterhouse in Nigeria, mingles with BROTHERS as they cut a huge oil tanker into pieces in Pakistan, and joins Chinese steel workers in hoping for a glorious FUTURE.

Meanwhile, the future is now in Germany, where a major smelting plant
of bygone days has been converted into a bright and shiny leisure park.
