Dario Argento's original has been given a stunning 4K restoration and will be screening - for two nights only! - over in Italy. http://birthmoviesdeath.com/2016/11/04/heres-the-eye-popping-trailer-for-suspirias-4k-re-release

You cannot remake giallo, unless they do something like The Love Witch which is a proper homage to films of that era.

Exactly...there are so many factors to the originals that just cannot be remade apart from the base idea.

Might as well take the promise and create your own then perhaps mention such and such was an influence or some shit.

But then that would not pull the crowd in.

I just share these as I am oh fuck here we go again. Some direct remakes have prove interesting in their own ways but there been many a failure as well.

Being there is no name connected leaves me wondering their motivations....but then this could be to surprise us as well...

Did anyone else see 2013's The Strange Colour of Your Body's Tears? I think the film is visually arresting. Quite an excellent nod to Giallo films of the 70s. The narrative is confusing, but I think overall it's very well done.

Have been meaning to catch The Strange Colour of Your Body's Tears for a long time. This is where all these remakes...if they are truly fans of giallo...should go...create their own experience.

Well said, I have not finished watching The Love Witch (I saw half of it), but it is a serious &proper homage to the giallo, regardless of whether the movie after it ends up being bad or not (which of course is a matter of personal taste), but if you respect and love something, that's the way to honor it.
